This is a unique opportunity as Book Fairies seeks a dynamic and experienced Book Bank/Volunteer Coordinator to join our non-profit team.
The ideal candidate should possess a deep appreciation for books, physical stamina, and a proactive attitude within a fast-paced and growing environment.
Duties will include, but not limited to; Direct supervision of the Book Bank operations.
Training, assessing, and overseeing volunteer teams of up to 25 individuals in book sorting procedures.
Providing guidance and feedback to volunteers of diverse age groups and capabilities.
Efficient categorization and sorting of books, including identifying adult books for sale and liaising with book buyers.
Serving as a spokesperson to introduce Book Fairies' mission to volunteers, corporate teams, donors, and partners.
Collaborating with the Program Director and Executive Director to suggest and implement streamlined operational procedures.
Initiating and overseeing major projects such as layout changes to accommodate additional space, adapting promptly as required.
Ensuring the safety of everyone within the Book Bank premises Coordinating with the Program Director and Logistics Coordinator to manage inventory and align volunteer activities with inbound and outbound book requirements.
Additional duties as necessary.
Skills/Requirements Physical fitness and capability to lift boxes weighing 30lbs or more throughout the workday.
Experience in training and supervising volunteer teams to accomplish common goals.
Knowledge of book genres and age-appropriate categories.
Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in inventory management.
Experience and compassion in working with Special Needs Individuals.
Multitasking abilities and composure in a high-paced environment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
