This position will require an above average technical skill set with the ability to increase their knowledge through experience and training.
This position is responsible for daily through monthly maintenance procedures and assistance on other maintenance functions.
All employees are required to report any Food Safety issues to their supervisor immediately.
Essential Functions Ability to operate, troubleshoot, assemble, and disassemble all production equipment independently and efficiently.
Mechanically support a minimum of one production area at a time without affecting departmental KPIs.
Ensure production equipment is operating at optimum speed and efficiency.
Perform carpentry repairs and painting projects; maintain all mechanical and vacant areas of building.
Perform masonry repairs as needed, including walls and floors if the interior and exterior of the facility.
Perform or assist in electrical repairs and or installation of electrical connections for equipment, lights, etc.
Complete all documentation timely and accurately.
Provide appropriate instruction/training to others as required.
Promptly report to supervisor all observations that are relevant to ensure a safe and efficient operation in the department.
Maintains equipment clean to prevent cross-contamination.
Provide input to help improve the performance of the department.
Follow and adhere to all company and departmental procedures and policies.
Demonstrate initiative in daily duties.
Perform tasks correctly the first time through.
Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Technical background with a strong mechanical/technical inclination.
Basic knowledge in at least one technical area such as:
mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems or controls in a manufacturing industrial setting.
Troubleshooting capabilities.
Working knowledge of power and hand tools.
Understand written/verbal instructions, warning signs, fill out documentation requirements; communicate with personnel and equipment manufacturers.
Develop thorough knowledge of Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Safety Regulations, Tool Reconciliation and Maintenance procedures.
Incorporate industry safety rules and regulations as related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components Foster the necessary troubleshooting skills to independently support all production and facility equipment.
Develop competency with the use of precision measurement instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
Understanding of electricity and troubleshooting potential of electric circuits.
Proficient in converting between ISO metric and US Standard Measurement Systems.
Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints and documents, such as safety / operating / maintenance / parts manuals.
Works well with others.
Must have good oral and written communication, and basic computer skills.
Works constructively and effectively with others to resolve issues and improve productivity.
Maintenance Duties and Responsibilities Inspects buildings to determine maintenance needs by visual observation, gages, meters, and other test devices.
Operates machines and other equipment to observe operation and diagnose malfunctions or to test repaired equipment Perform changeovers on all production equipment, including timing changes, adjustments, and set-up equipment for production.
Thorough understanding of assembly and disassembly procedure of applicable equipment.
Working Conditions/Physical Factors:
Works overtime as required.
Worker is exposed to a loud working environment.
Worker exposed to hazards in the workplace such as close proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat, moving parts, and electrical current.
Frequent bending, stooping, standing, climbing, reaching, walking, lifting, twisting, pushing, pulling, and squatting required.
Must be flexible and willing to work any shift, time, day, or holiday.
Must be able to ascend and descend building stairways, ladders, and ramps to perform tasks required in job description.
Worker exposed to temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
More extreme temperatures possible during summer months.
Must have the ability to understand both written and verbal instructions.
Must be capable of exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, and at least 20 pounds of force constantly.
Worker subject to working in cramped locations.
Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs.
